Blog 6: changes to my study programme

 Hi, today I'm going to talk about the changes that I want to make to my study programme.

I’m studying “Artes Plasticas” and there I have subjects like “Historia del arte”. In this subject I’m learning about the historical art movements from occident and the most important artists of Europe. Also I have other theoretical subjects like aesthetic, methodologies of investigation, and some theoric seminars.

Also I have a lot of Technical workshops, like painting, sculpting, photography, silk-screen printing, engraved, and so one. but we don't study all the techniques. I have subjects called “Taller central” and “Taller complementario”. There I have to select some workshop to study. If you wanna change the workshop you can do it every semester.

In general, the marks are not very important, because the teachers assess the experience and the hard work more than the final result of the work.

Usually most of the exams are on the same week and that makes a big academic load.

The Faculty of Arts is in a terrible condition, a lot of workshops are not well equipped and some of the implements are unsafe. In winter, when it rains, there are leaks in the ceiling. Some workshops use toxic materials and we don't have security implements even if we have an accident we don’t have the implements to prevent it either.

About technology in the career. We have a room with computers where adobe programs are installed because we have some subjects where we use computers but we can’t use it after the classes because the room is locked at the end of it.

I think that teaching methods are not good at all, although the teachers let us discover our own ways to make art sometimes the implements and the environments don’t help us to have a good experience through the career and learning 

I would really like to change everything that interferes with my learning like the internal problems of the university that I mentioned before and the teaching methods. I think that we need an actual vision of the art that gives us better preparation to be greatest Artists.
