Blog 5: Recycling

 hi, today i´m going to talk a bit about recycling.

First, I think it’s important to mention that since 2018 I work in a Socio-environmental organization, and I often talk with my partners about environmental issues besides my partners who know a lot about that. So I tried to share a few things that I learn in this agrupation

About recycling, we have to talk about the changes that make recycling worthwhile, i mean that it is not enough known how to separate the trash but also we have to know the end-to-end of the trash that we are recycling and find the way to minimized the trash that we produce

Recycling isn’t the only way or the best way to protect the environment. Recycling won’t save us from the climatic chaos that we are living at this moment. I'm not saying that we have to stop recycling, it is really important to recognize our impact on the environment. However, the real culprits of the climatic chaos are the big extractivist companies.

Extractivism is the indiscriminate process of extraction of the natural resources. This resources will be bought like raw material to make new products. Examples of extractivist companies are minery, forestries, agroindustry and industrial fishing.

It’s very important don't limit ourselves to changing our habits. Also we need to organize ourselves in our spaces and rise ambiental movements to fight against the extractive companies until they close the production and so prevent more slaughter areas like petorca, quintero and coronel.
